Sep 95 – April 06. Actrive duty, US Army Reserve. Assignments include Deputy Staff Judge Advocate (responsible for the daily operation of the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate and supervision of three attorneys), Chief, Operational Law (provided operational law legal advice regarding all aspects of Department of Defense support to civilian authorities in a broad range of classified and unclassified missions), Command Ethics Counselor, Assistant, Assistant Staff Judge Advocate, and Chief of Criminal Law.
May 1985 - Sep 1995: 22nd Judicial District Court District Attorney, Covington, Louisiana. Assignments included Felony Docket Assistant (complete responsibility for prosecution of all capital and non-capital felony offenses. Successful prosecutions include Homicides, Kidnapping, Rape, Armed Robbery and complex “White Collar” Fraud and “Racketeering” cases). Chief of Narcotics Prosecution, Director of Child support and Juvenile Division (responsibility for all litigation, administration and budget requirements of division with four attorneys, nine clerical workers and three offices).
May 1982 – May 1985: 22nd Judicial District Court Indigent Defender, Covington, Louisiana. Public Defender representing defendants in all classes of criminal cases. Represented a larger number of defendants and had more trials than any other lawyer in the judicial district. Obtained successful verdicts in almost one-half of tried cases.
Oct 1980 – May 1982: Orleans Parish District Attorney, New Orleans, Louisiana, Assistant District Attorney representing the State of Louisiana in trials at Orleans Parish Criminal District Court. Over fifty felony jury trials.
